Keen daffodil pickers at Middlerun

Daffodils, markets and steam train rides? It must be spring!

Celebrate at the annual fun-filled Carterton Daffodil Festival on Sunday 10 September.

Catch the steam train from Wellington to Carterton, pick armfuls of daffs at historic Middlerun, and enjoy all the other events in Carterton town centre - from the annual Wai Art sale to street markets and Horse Drawn Surrey Rides.

There will be free buses throughout the day starting at 10am from Broadway St, to shuttle people to and from Middlerun. A small fee in charged to pick the daffodils with all proceeds going to the local Plunket and St John.

The steam-powered 'Daffodil Express' train makes a special return trip from Wellington for the day, and offers a short trip from Carterton to Masterton too. 

The 'Daffodil Express' train Wellington departure times are:
8.40am Wellington Station
8.50am Petone
9.00am Waterloo
9.35am Upper Hutt
You will arrive in Carterton at 10.40am. At 3.00pm the 'Daffodil Express' departs for Wellington from Carterton.
