Girls' Wairarapa Weekend Away

Based in Masterton:
Arrive Friday night and check into the Copthorne Hotel and Resort - the Copthorne can arrange to pick you up from the train station etc.

Have dinner at hotel restaurant The Grill before retiring to the Whisky Bar for some cocktails.

Enjoy a good breakfast at the Copthorne on Saturday morning before climbing aboard the coach for a Martinborough Gourmet Wine Tour - spend the day indulging in wine and platters as you take a guided tour around the vineyards of Martinborough.

After your tour you'll be dropped back at the hotel. Freshen up and enjoy a 5 minute stroll to Cafe Solway for dinner.

On Sunday, stroll the ten minutes into town for brunch and a coffee at one of the great cafes here. If that's not for you then give a local taxi company a call and head down to Greytown for some fantastic boutique shopping, enjoy lunch at a main street cafe before and get down to Schoc Chocolates before leaving town. If you're heading out on the train the station is a bit out of town and you will need to get a taxi here. Rimutaka Shuttles are your best option for this - give them a ring sooner rather than later to book your ride.

Based in Martinborough:
Check in at one of the fantastic Martinborough accommodation options on Friday night in the centre of town before grabbing something delicious to eat at a nearby restaurant. Cafe Medici and the Martinborough Hotel are all great spots to grab a meal. Afterward walk down to Martinborough Brewery for some fantastic in-house beer and atmosphere!

On Saturday enjoy breakfast at your hotel before taking a look at the little town's boutique shopping scene. Next, head down to the i-SITE along Kitchener Street and hire a bike each! From here the town is your oyster - grab a map and get cycling - you've got plenty of vineyards to visit and you're wasting daylight!!
If you're looking for a lunch stop then Poppies Martinborough, Tirohana Estate and Coney Wines are the places to eat - everyone else thinks this too though so it might pay to call ahead and make a reservation!
Saturday night it's up to you - have dinner where you like and dance the night away or have a quiet one at your accommodation with a glass of red wine.

Sunday is a perfect day for some serious shopping - Rimutaka Shuttles can pick you up from Martinborough and take you into Greytown for some beautiful clothing and homeware shops. Lunch along the Main Street is beautiful - try Bar Salute or Main St Deli or 2 Short Whites - and if you don't mind a little walk then Schoc Chocolates is absolutely essential. This chocolate cottage at the southern end of town creates over 85 flavours of handcrafted chocolatey goodness - you deserve to be spoilt.

If you're catching the train home the station is just out of town. Rimutaka Shuttles or Martinborough Shuttles can get you here easy as pie so just give them a ring (with a bit of notice) and they'll come and pick you up!
