The Masterton Golf Club is the premiere golf club in the Wairarapa and has been operating since in 1899.
This beautiful tree filled course sits high on a hill in Lansdowne with views across Masterton to the Tararua Ranges. The course is terrific for the beginner right through to the very experienced golfer. The par 71, 5500m course is undulating with lots of interesting holes. The All Teed Up Pro Shop at the course is open 7 days a week for all golfing supplies.
The course is open most days for casual players, however it is closed for major tournaments. It's best to make a booking.
The most famous golfer to come out of the Masterton Golf Club, is Sir Bob Charles. For many years he was the only left-hander to win a Major Championship, the 1963 British Open. Bob Charles has been Masterton’s, and New Zealand’s, foremost golfing ambassador for the best part of five decades.
