With a focus on STEM and inspiring youth into aviation careers Wings Over Wairarapa 2019 includes many interactive activities and demonstrations. Most are free, some are low cost, and some workshops will be able to be pre-purchased. Learn more here.

NanoGirl Labs – Pop-up Aero-Science and Street Science
Hugely popular NanoGirl and her Science Communicators will be walking through the crowd, engaging with young people and families with fun science demonstrations.
Fab Lab Masterton – 3D Printing and Digital Fabrication
See 3D printing in action, and design your own 3D printable objects in the Interactive Makerspace or design and build your own 3D printed rocket in an hands-on workshop.
Aerospace Education – Rocketry Demonstrations and Workshops
An introduction to the amazing educational activity of model rocketry - or building and flying models of the real thing! All going well you’ll get a chance to launch your rocket on site. Also a stage presentation on rocketry including live demonstrations of both solid fuel and water powered rockets.
Augmented Reality (AR) and Robotics – Victoria University
Join engineering experts and learn how you can integrate all STEM fields in ways no other subject can - mechanical, electrical, electronics, control engineering, computer science, technology, math and science, just by playing with robots! Also enjoy an AR application designed just for Wings and create a digital display of planes flying at the Festival.
Model Flying NZ
Experience the thrill of sitting up front of a racing drone while it whips around an obstacle course plus meet Scott Spooner from Hamilton-based leading drone manufacturers Aeronavics, with some of the most sophisticated drones in the world.
Model Flying NZ UA Area
Learn about Unmanned Aircraft and see incredible examples of model flying as a sport and a hobby, including Control Line Stunt Flying, Large Scale Radio Controlled Helicopters, Radio Controlled Discus Launch Gliser and Large Scale Radio Controlled Jet Turbines.
