A TOAST TO NEW DESTINATION WAIRARAPA BOSS

The boss of New Zealand’s premier wine and food festival, Toast Martinborough, has been appointed as the new general manager of Destination Wairarapa.

Anna Nielson is taking over from David Hancock who has been at the helm of the region’s tourism organisation for eight years.

Ms Nielson has had a long and successful association with the food and beverage sector, including being a co-founder and co-director of Wellington on a Plate.

She describes her new role as a “dream job” and one that she has had her eye on for a long time.

Mixing country music and classic cars, the 2020 Wairarapa Country Music Festival at Tauherenikau promises to be an event like no other.

NEW ZEALAND DEBUT OF B-52 STRATOFORTRESS AT WINGS 20TH ANNIVERSARY AIR FESTIVAL

 Wings over Wairarapa Air Festival organisers have announced that a Boeing B-52 Stratofortress will make its New Zealand debut at their Air Festival being held next week.

The Boeing B-52 Stratofortress is an American long-range, subsonic, jet-powered strategic bomber, designed and built by Boeing.  It has been operated by the United States Air Force (USAF) since the 1950s. The plane has a typical combat range of more than 14,080km without aerial re-fuelling.
