Wairarapa is full of tempting book based events this Spring!
In October, we kick off with Train Tracks to Featherston, an epic train story. Yarns in Barns, the Wairarapa's Festival of Reading returns with tales and cracking yarns from Aotearoa's best storytellers in eclectic range of venues and a woolshed. The Bookshop Hop connects 12 of Wairarapa's new and used bookshops, all located within a short distance of one another - perfect to visit in one day!

Featherston Booktown presents Gregory Hill. He'll share his epic train journey from Wellington to Spain, as part of a day of celebration of trains and railway in Featherston. See model train sets running in Anzac Hall,the Fell Engine Museum will be open, the Cross Creek Railway's Mini Fell locomotive will be running and book shops will showcase train books.

Running every 2 years, Yarns in Barns features author talks on subjects from farming to fiction, art to cooking, and true crime to children’s stories. Yarns in Barns is hosted in an eclectic range of venues from Masterton to Martinborough, including bookstores, libraries, courthouses and of course, a barn!

Wairarapa Bookshop Hop is back for its third year, with 12 participating Wairarapa Bookshops, meaning you'll be able enjoy a range of bookish events all day long. Plus be in for a chance to win bookshop vouchers and special prizes, along with fun events at stores along the way, all in celebration of NZ Bookshop Day.
