Wairarapa – still plenty to do

There's lots on to see and do

Fabulous food and wine, big open spaces, stunning scenery… there’s lots on to see and do.

If your holiday plans have changed we’re a great option for a quick getaway not far from Wellington.

Beaches and coastal areas:

Get outside and let the kids run free at Riversdale and Castlepoint. The iconic Castlepoint lighthouse is a picture postcard, but the only way to truly enjoy it is up close and personal. Let the kids loose on the beach, wet their feet in the surf and maybe even chance their luck with a fishing rod.

Our coastal areas are a great spot to soak up nature with lots of things to do and see - like the seals at Cape Palliser.

Get out and about in the outdoors! Walks - we have everything from a short stroll around our reserves, Waiohine Gorge walk, multi-day tramp along the coast or in the Tararua Ranges.

Feel like bike ride? Cycle the vines, get off road on the Greytown-Woodside Trail and check out our bike trails. The Remutaka Rail Trail is a must-do.

Pūkaha National Wildlife Centre free guided tours - get up close to native wildlife such as tuatara, kaka, kokako and NZ's white kiwi - Manukura. Pūkaha National Wildlife Centre are offering free guided tours daily (with entry) of the reserve each day at 12.30pm.

Queen Elizabeth Park – a fun stop with the kids.

Have a coffee or a cheeky wine in Greytown while you check out the shops.

We're at the heart of the NZ Classic Wine Trail so visiting our Wairarapa vineyards is a treat. Hire a bike and cycle the vines - it's a fun day out! Cycling the vines in Martinborough is made fun when keeping an eye out for the Marty Murals.

We have lots of great accommodation. Book and stay - our super i-SITE Information team can book this for you.
