Carterton Daffodil Festival

Keen daffodil pickers at Middlerun

Daffodils, markets and steam train rides? It must be spring! Celebrate the annual fun-filled Carterton Daffodil Festival on Sunday 9 September 2018.

Catch the steam train from Wellington to Carterton, pick armfuls of daffs at historic Middlerun, and enjoy all the other events in Carterton town centre - from the street markets to Horse Drawn Surrey Rides.

There will be free buses throughout the day starting at 9.45am to shuttle people to and from Middlerun. A small fee is charged to pick the daffodils with all proceeds going to the local Plunket and St John.

The steam-powered 'Daffodil Express' train makes a special return trip from Wellington for the day, and also makes a short trip from Carterton to Masterton.
