The much loved Wairarapa Balloon Festival is returning to the skies for five days this Easter from 6-10 April 2023.
Highlights of the festival include take offs from different Wairarapa towns each morning, along with a reinvigorated Night Glow - the new Clareville Showgrounds venue allowing for more spectacular entertainment including skydivers, Tiger Moths, model aeroplanes, night drone racing and more, in addition to the spectacular glowing balloons.
Wairarapa Balloon Festival 2023 programme:
-Thursday 6 April - More FM First Flight from 6.30am, Masterton
-Friday 7 April - Mass Ascension from 6.30am, Carterton
-Saturday 8 April - Meander over Martinborough from 6.30am, Martinborough
-Saturday 8 April - Night Glow at Clareville Showgrounds. See the action-packed programme here
-Sunday 9 April - Park to Paddock Challenge from 6.30am, Greytown
-Monday 10 April - Farewell Flight from 6.30am, mystery location. Pilots and their balloons will take off for the last time in the festival's finale flight.
International balloonists are also welcomed back this year, with up to 20 balloonists expected - the biggest number to date!
