New Whare Whakairo is open
6th – 8th Feb from 9am – 5pm, Pukaha
Pūkaha National Wildlife Centre's whare whakairo (carving workshop) 'Rere Te Maramara' is now open to the public. See carvers in action - the whare is able to be accessed for free and will be open to the public throughout Waitangi Weekend 6th – 8th February from 9am – 5pm across Saturday, Sunday and Monday. (At all other times it will be freely open for public view six days a week, 9am – 5pm from Monday - Saturday)
Try NZ's finest oysters
Martin Bosley is shucking oysters at Pinocchio Restaurant & Bar

Come and join Martin Bosley at Pinocchio Restaurant & Bar in Greytown as he shucks hundreds of NZ's finest oysters right in front of you. There is also a small tapas menu available. No bookings - just turn up!

A local celebration of Waitangi Day with live entertainment from Lion Rezz, Israel Starr, Sianne and Friends (Sianne Dougherty), Majic Paora. It's perfect for the whole family with lots of free fun and entertainment including art, food stalls and fun activities for all ages!

With over 500 stalls the Martinborough Fair is the place to find top quality NZ-made craft and clothing, great food and much more!
Summer Gin Experience
Create, make and take home your own bottle of gin
Sat 6 Feb 10am-12pm & 2pm-4pm, Muirlea Rise Vineyard Martinborough
Create and distill your own gin from over 30 different botanicals then bottle, label and wait patiently for two weeks until it's ready to enjoy! It's also fun to bring a few leaves or petals from your garden or local native bush for that extra special touch.
Te Kairanga Farmers Market
Sun 7 Feb 10am - 3pm, Te Kairanga Vineyard, 89 Martins Road, Martinborough
Alongside some of Wellington's top food trucks, try award-winning wines from both Te Kairanga and Martinborough Vineyard and local favourite, Lighthouse Gin. Live music from local Wellington cover bands, The Noods, Two Times and Between the Lines will round out a fantastic day at Te Kairanga!

Friday 5 Feb
Celebrate NZ Rosé Day and kick-off the long Waitangi weekend in style with a glass of chilled Rosé at Wairarapa's many stunning vineyards here.
Sunday Sessions at Margrain Vineyard
Sun 7 Feb 2-5pm, Margrain Vineyard Martinborough
How about wine with pizza, platters and burgers in the vines while listening to live music? The perfect way to wind down the weekend.
Sun 7 Feb 5pm, Luna Estate Martinborough
A delicious spit lamb roast served in a family-style on long tables followed by chocolate nemesis. Treat yourself to a bottle of Luna Eclipse Pinot Noir with this meal. Bookings are essential.
Exciting Horse Racing
Monday 8 Feb. Gates open 10am, Tauherenikau Racecourse Featherston
Lots of fun for the family - watch the horses race plus there is free kids entertainment. Gate entry is $20 for adults and Under 18's are free. Tranzit buses will meet the Wellington Train leaving Wellington at 9.55am and getting into Featherston at10.55am, and return to meet the return service to Wellington at 5.25pm, getting into Wellington at 6.25pm.

Conversations With The Winemakers
Monday 8 Feb 11am– 4pm, Big Sky Wines 415 Te Muna Road Martinborough
Enjoy some fabulous Big Sky wines and a conversation with owners and winemakers Katherine and Jeremy, at this very personal and exclusive tasting. Two sessions per day at 11 am and 2 pm, so numbers are limited. There is no charge for the tasting, but the bottles of wine will be available for sale after the tasting.
