Just outside of Carterton, Fensham Reserve is large loop track that takes you through towering native trees, making it perfect for families.

Fensham Reserve is one of the best places for a bush walk near Carterton. This 48-hectare native bush reserve is just a few minutes' drive from the town's main street, and a popular spot for families and joggers.
The tracks take you along wetland boardwalks, through native bush and up to a hilltop with views of rolling farmland. You're likely to spot tui's, fantail's and 500-year-old trees along the way.
The main loop walk takes about an hour. Dogs are not allowed on this walk.
Location
From Carterton, turn west onto Belvedere Road, then drive about 3kms to the corner of Cobden Road and Haringa Road.
