William Hedley gave up selling papers from the back of his bike and set up a newsagent's shop, and now this store on Queen Street has been run by the same family for three generations. Today, William's grandson David and his wife Jenny specialise in New Zealand books, especially art and history. Pop and rock biographies - from Bowie to Led Zeppelin - are also a focus.
