At the heart of SH2, drive from Wellington over the Remutaka Hill and down into Wairarapa. It’s just over a 1 hour drive to Featherston. Continue on for another 15 minutes to Greytown or Martinborough. 20 minutes to Carterton or 40 minutes to Masterton. ​

Coming from Palmerston North? It’s a 1.5 hour drive via Pahiatua to Masterton.
